Cancellations initiated by The Salty Sunflower
We take our commitment to you seriously. If we ever need to cancel a session, here’s what you can expect:
•Weather or air quality cancellation: If we cancel a session due to AQI above 150, wildfire smoke, extreme heat, or other unsafe weather conditions, you will receive a full session credit. We will notify you by email at least one hour before the session start time when possible.
•Safety-related cancellation (site, facilitator emergency, or unforeseen circumstances): Full session credit, or a pro-rated refund at your request if three or more sessions in a season are cancelled by us.
•Program cancellation before camp begins: Full refund of all amounts paid, including any processing fees, within 10 business days.
How to request a cancellation
Email us at admin@thesaltysunflowersd.com with your child’s name, the camp session, and your reason for cancelling. We’ll confirm receipt within 1–2 business days and let you know the refund or credit amount.
A note from us
•If something unexpected comes up — illness, a family situation, anything — please reach out before your session starts rather than after. We have much more flexibility when we hear from you early, and we always want to find a solution that works for your family.
Transfers and deferrals
•Transferring to a different camp session or theme: Allowed with 7 or more days notice, subject to availability. No fee.
•Transferring your spot to another child: Allowed with 7 or more days notice and Director approval. The new child must complete all enrollment forms before attending.
•Deferring to a future season: At Director discretion. Credits do not carry over between calendar years unless agreed in writing.
Illness and medical situations
If your child is ill on a session day, please keep them home — we appreciate it, and so do the other families. A sick-day absence is not grounds for a refund or credit under standard policy, but if your child misses multiple sessions due to a documented medical condition, please reach out. We’ll review each situation compassionately.
If your child tests positive for a communicable illness within 48 hours of a session, please notify us immediately so we can alert other families as appropriate.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you initiate a payment dispute or chargeback through your credit card provider or Squarespace before contacting us, we will respond to the dispute with a copy of this published policy and your signed enrollment forms. We strongly encourage families to contact us directly before initiating a dispute — we are almost always able to resolve concerns quickly and informally.
